CF4000 FAQ

 NEGATIVE AIR IONS ("NAIs") TECHNOLOGY

Qn 1.    Can Zero2.5 Negative Ion Air Purifiers remove COVID-19 from the air?
Reply:   Yes. Our negative ion air purifiers / air ionizers have undergone an efficacy test of 1μm aerosol particles (which is a proxy of the COVID-19 virus). The efficacy of virus removal is being independently tested by Research Institutes and peer-reviewed in the OSF Journal. The full report can be found at the link here: https://osf.io/2mh4c/
Qn 2.    Is there any scientific literature explaining the benefits of NAIs?
Reply:   We have compiled a list of scientific journal articles documenting the benefits the NAIs can bring to a person. Download information at the link below:

Qn 3.    Can Zero2.5 Negative Ion Air Purifier removes pollen from the air? This question is particularly relevant for countries that experience pollen season in Spring.
Reply:   Negative Air Ions (“NAIs”) remove particles from the air that cause allergies, such as: pollen, dust and mold. There are many types of pollen allergies and the particle sizes of pollen typically range from 10 to 150 microns(μm). Our Negative Ion Air Purifiers are capable of removing particulate matter up to 10μm (i.e., PM2.5 and PM10).
Qn 4.    Which part of the coconut is used to extract the sustainable natural fibre that goes into producing Zero2.5 Negative Ion Air Purifiers? From which country is the coconut natural fibre sourced from?
Reply:   The sustainable natural fibre is extracted from the outer husk of the coconut and the material is sourced directly from various coconut farms in Indonesia.
Qn 5.    When will the Natural Fibre Coco Ball degenerate?
Reply:   Based on our Supplier's feedback, the coconut fibre can last for a period up to 3 years. As mentioned earlier, we provide 1-year warranty for the natural fibre coco ball and electronic parts (including control box and adapters). This is based on the condition that the products are operated within the limits set forth in the respective products’ user guides.
Qn 6.    Must the Zero2.5 Negative Ion Air Purifier be connected to the power socket and turned on all the time or does it run on rechargeable batteries?
Reply:   Zero2.5 Air Purifiers will only actively emit NAIs when they are turned on (i.e., connected to power source or rechargeable batteries). It is important to use only the Zero2.5 Power Adaptor or Rechargeable Battery for optimal performance.
Qn 7.    Zero2.5 Negative Ion Air Purifiers are deemed to be 5x more energy efficient than other Air Purifiers (i.e., uses less than 3W of power). Is there any source to support this statement?
Reply:   The power consumption of our negative ion air purifiers are tested and measured to consume less than 3W of power. The average power consumption for a mid-range air purifier is more than 15W. For example, the rated power for Mi Air Purifier 3H is 38W.
Qn 8.    How do I know if my newly installed Negative Ion Air Purifier / Air Ionizer is working properly?
Reply:   There is a green LED light indicator that illuminates when the device is powered on. You can also use Zero2.5 Ion Sensor or an Ion counter to measure the presence and concentration of NAIs when the device is turned on.
Qn 9.  What are the troubleshooting steps if my Negative Ion Air Purifier / Air Ionizer is showing no light or red light?
Reply:   If unit's light not on:

  • Check if adaptor is properly inserted in the electrical outlet.
  • Check if electrical outlet is turned on.
  • Check if DC jack is correctly attached, make sure it is pushed all the way into the AirClassic.
  • Check if the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another device.

If unit's light is red:

  • Ensure that the Air purifier/ioniser is not touching any other surfaces such as a nearby wall or furniture. Ensure that the bottom of the Air purifier/ioniser is dry. Place the Air purifier/ioniser on a rubber mat.
  • You could also try turning off the device (pressing the on/off button), removing the natural fiber ball, removing the shredded fiber if any, and then restarting it (power on again) to check if the buzzing sound persists. If it does, it might indicate a fault with the unit. Please contact our customer service for assistance.

Qn 10.  How long can Zero2.5 Negative Ion Air Purifiers / Air Ionizers emit NAIs (i.e., 10 years, 5 years or forever)?
Reply:   We offer a 1-year warranty for our products (including the coco ball). This period of warranty is the standard practice extended in the market for consumer electronic products. We recommend that the air purifier / air ionizer be turned on only when it is in use, just like any electronic product. Do turn off the power when the Air Ionizer is not in use.
Qn 11.  How do you clean or perform maintenance on the natural fibre coco ball (i.e.,  accumulation of dust).
Reply:   The natural fibre coco ball is maintenance-free. However, it is a good practice to carry out simple cleaning and maintenance once or twice a month. We recommend using a wet tissue or towel to wrap around the coco ball for 10 minutes to absorb dirt(if any). This procedure will also help to moisturise the natural fibre of the coco ball which also prolongs its air cleaning efficiency.
Qn 12. How often should the natural fibre coco ball be replaced? Are spare replacement coco balls sold? Understand you have earlier mentioned 3 years. Will this be correct?
Reply:   The natural fibre coco ball should last for at least a year on the condition that the product is used within the limits set forth in the product’s user guide or under normal usage. The estimated lifespan of a natural fibre coco ball is 3 years. If a replacement coco ball is needed, it can be purchased online.
Qn 13.  Why does my wall display some black marks after a couple of weeks when I place the CF4000 Negative Ion Air Purifier / Ioniser close by?
Reply:   Be assured that our ioniser is a low powered device and is absolutely safe to use. The black wall marks are not burnt marks but an indication that the air quality in that environment is less than ideal (i.e., black marks are due to an accumulation of PM2.5, dust, smoke, etc). The black marks also demonstrate the strength of our ioniser in subsiding the air pollutants to the ground or nearby surfaces. This happens if the ioniser is placed closer to the wall surface. It is always a good practice that the wall surface nearer to the ioniser be cleaned regularly depending on how dusty is the environment. To put things in perspective, such pollutants in the air are likely to end up in your lungs, if it were not for the air cleaning efficacy of our ionisers.
Qn 13.  Concerns with static charges
Reply: Our air purifier relies on air ionization to create a healthier environment by emitting negatively charged ions into the air. These ions effectively eliminate pollutants and allergens, contributing to improved air quality. However, as a side effect of this air ionization process, static electricity might be produced on nearby objects. This occurrence is perfectly normal and poses no safety risks.

Our innovative equipment employs a patented 360° natural fiber coir for efficient cleaning. It's important to note that when touching any part of the coir ball, some static electricity might be transferred to individuals. While this interaction remains safe, repeated contact with the ball could lead to a gradual accumulation of static electricity on the person. To prevent this buildup, we advise minimizing direct physical contact with the natural fiber ball.

The generation of static electricity is a minor side effect of this process. The mild shocks resulting from static discharges are generally more surprising than harmful. You might have encountered similar static shocks in your daily life, such as when touching a metal object after walking on a carpet. Rest assured, our air ionizer is designed to deliver clean air effectively while ensuring safety and comfort.
